Safety Director & Staff Instructor
Todd Pearson is an experienced Emergency Services Commander serving the Tucson Community for 29 years as a member of the Tucson Fire Department. During that time, Chief Pearson served at almost every level of the organization, with 4 years of service as Firefighter, 16 years as a Certified Emergency Services Paramedic, 1 year as Training Officer, 10 years as a Suppression/Special Operations Captain, and 11 years as a Chief Officer.
At different points during his tenure as a Chief Officer, he managed districts 1, 3, and 4, which included oversight of the Hazardous Materials Response Team and the Special Operations/Heavy Rescue Team. For 3 years, he was also the Deputy Chief over the Medical Section. More recently, Mr. Pearson has earned a 2nd degree black belt in karate and is a licensed martial science Shidoin instructor.
Chief Pearson has responded to and commanded literally thousands of emergency incidents, with “safety” being the cornerstone of all safe and successful fire/rescue operations. He brings to KoSho MTI a keen eye for unsafe operating conditions during training and considerable experience in developing response plans, strategies, and in coordinating the actions of multiple persons, units, or groups during training.
